Well, well, well, it looks like red-hot Raanta will get his third straight start against the Devils today. This from the morning skate.

Now, if he wins this game will Lundqvist sit against the Blackhawks rematch on Tuesday? Things getting interesting in NY. For the record, the extra time off, especially after the World Cup in September is probably a really good thing for Henrik Lundqvist.

Jooris on Waivers

Josh Jooris will eventually be sent to the Hartford Wolfpack if he clears waivers at noon today. Jooris simply wasn’t doing enough to distinguish himself this season and Oscar Lindberg’s improved play has helped in making that decision. Same can be said for Marek Hrivik who was buzzing all over the ice against Chicago.

The Rangers can bury all 600K of Jooris cap hit in Hartford.

Pavel Buchnevich Watch

Hopefully placing Jooris on waivers is a sign that Buchnevich is close to a return next week. He was diagnosed with a protruding disc in his back (revealed by NYPOST), and now we hope that it has healed enough to play.

Buchnevich put on a lot of weight this offseason, and you have to think not being used to carrying it caused the back issue. I’m not a doctor, just providing my logical thought process.
