Rd1 Gm 4: Opportunity knocks for Rangers to grab 3-1 stranglehold in Pittsburgh (NYR v PIT 7PM)
Knock, Knock! Who’s There? Opportunity, now answer it!
This is exactly what the Rangers must do tonight. Over the last few playoff runs, the Rangers have shown an annoying trend for prolonging a series beyond predicted expectations.
In the first round of 2012, they were expected to trample Ottawa but instead see-sawed back and forth for seven games. Last year against the Flyers, a team they owned in the regular season, they did the same exact thing.
Here we are today against a depleted 8th seeded Penguins team and the Rangers could grab a commanding series lead with a win in Pittsburgh. A 3-1 series lead could mean a 5 game wrap up with a win Friday at home in Madison Square Garden.
Do the Rangers have that killer instinct? We get our answers later on tonight.
