The New York Rangers have announced that goaltender Igor Shesterkin has entered COVID-19 protocol. Keith Kinkaid has been called up from the taxi squad and will back up Alexandar Georgiev against Vegas.

Georgiev, 25, is 6-3-2 with a 2.72 GAA and a .908 SV%. He’s coming off a solid 4-1 win over the Edmonton Oilers on Monday night. He made 33 saves in that game including a spectacular glove stop on Connor McDavid.

The goaltender was recently taken off the COVID protocol list after facing the Golden Knights at MSG on December 17, a 3-2 shootout loss to the Vegas Golden Knights. A win tonight will extend the Blueshirts winning streak to four games.

The lineup remains the same as it was against the Oilers.
