Rumor buzz out of Toronto picking up on Rangers Georgiev

There was talk last month out of Toronto that the Leafs were interested in landing Alexander Georgiev to strengthen their goaltending tandem. Tonight with the Leafs getting lit up like a Christmas tree by Florida, the rumor mill is churning faster.

NHL ready prospect

Elliotte Friedman reported last night that the Rangers are now listening on Georgiev offers. This is a little contrary to what I heard. Per my sources they were taking calls last month on him. Regardless, Friedman says the Rangers won’t move him unless they get an NHL ready forward prospect and anything less will be disregarded.

One name that could be of interest for the Rangers is 22 year old L.I. native Jeremy Bracco. The winger has proven he can score but is smallish at around 5’11”. Furthermore, he is having a hard time trying to crack the Leafs deep forward group.

While Bracco alone may not be enough to get the deal done, the trade allows the Rangers to slot Howden back at center. More importantly it clears up the logjam in the crease. Let’s see how this plays out and when they pull the trigger.
