Torts fined for tirade against officials, is Quinn next?

John Tortorella is $20,000 lighter after going off against the officials and the league in his post game presser.

Last night, David Quinn lost is with the officiating crew after a terrible call on Ryan Lindgren who was protecting himself. At worse, it should have been matching minors but the penalty led to a goal and a tirade by the coach. Which led to even more penalties and more goals against.

It’s clear the broadcast caught DQ yelling “rabbit ears”. The term has nothing to do with the refs physical appearance. Rather it is sports slang for having ears sensitive to insults.

Will the NHL give David Quinn a call and maybe a smaller fine? Say something in the $5000 range as a warning? We will see.
