What would a Chris Kreider blockbuster trade to Colorado look like

To trade or not to trade to steal and play on words from William Shakespeare. That really is the albatross circling this NHL Trade Deadline. Imagine if you will the Rangers trading Chris Kreider right after they play the Sharks on Saturday night. It would start a chain reaction around the league with other teams scrambling to compete. We all know the Rangers are going to score big if they move him, but with many contenders in desperate need of help what about a blockbuster deal? Let’s explore.

Blockbuster Scenario One: Colorado Avalanche

The Avalanche are considered the top dog to land Kreider, but Colorado is in need of help in goal as well. So what would a blockbuster with the Avs look like? Remember, just recently Joe Sakic said he feels no pressure, is willing to trade his first round pick, and is looking to make hockey deals, not short term rental fixes.

To Colorado: Chris Kreider (50% salary retained), Alexandar Georgiev, Greg McKegg and a 3rd round pick.

To New York: 1st round pick, Tyson Jost, Martin Kaut, a mid-prospect, and a conditional 2nd round pick.

Joe Sakic is dealing with a number of injuries right now to key players. His forward corp is depleted with Mikko Rantanen, Nazem Kadri, and Matt Calvert all hurt. Plus he lost Philipp Grubauer as well in goal. The Rangers can help solve a lot of his problems if Sakic is willing to give up the key young pieces and that 1st round pick to make this blockbuster. Tyson Yost is a promising 21 year old center, while Martin Kaut is a prized 20 year old winger. If there was a blockbuster to be made with Colorado this would be it.
