Wolf Pack Watch: Hartford Sweeps Weekend; Prep For Canadian Road Trip

Latest Pack update

Through nine games in the American Hockey League, Hartford is 8-0-0-1 for 17 points. This is the second best start to a season in franchise history. The best start was in the 2004-05 season with a 9-0 start. The boys continue to roll with one game remaining on tap for October.

The group will have a dominating record after the month is completed. The first weekday game is Wednesday in Laval as Hartford goes on their Canadian trip. Let’s get to the latest.

Roster Moves

As expected, the Rangers have called up Filip Chytil on Monday evening. Ryan Lindgren was also recalled, which was a surprise. Lindgren also had a great start to the season, which is why the defenseman is up. The Rangers are hoping the fresh blood will give New York a push.

Zerter-Gossage recorded three assists in three games with Maine this season. Taylor played in six games as well, with no points.

Igor Shesterkin Dominates AHL

Through five games, Shesterkin is 5-0 with a 1.18 goals against average and a 0.955 save percentage. That puts him first in the league with the lowest goals against average. He also has the second highest save percentage out of the goalies in the league. To date, Shesterkin has stopped 126 of 132 shots.

This past weekend was another great outing for the Rangers prospect. On Friday, Shesterkin kept Hartford in the game despite being outplayed by the Laval Rocket. Save after save, Shesterkin was pulling out magnificent saves.

In his second game on Sunday against Bridgeport, Shesterkin continued to make amazing saves and keep Hartford in the game. His performance speaks high volume and continues to help give Hartford a chance to win games.
