As predicted, David Quinn will not announce Rangers starting goalie

Quinn will wait on announcing his goaltender.

David Quinn revealed that he will not be announcing the Rangers starting goaltender any time soon. He will however, be bringing everyone from training camp, save for K’Andre Miller who can’t play, to Toronto.

David Quinn will wait until Game One

Yesterday, I wrote that there was no reason or advantage for David Quinn to announce his starting goaltender. Prior to writing that article, I did break down exactly what I thought he would do.

Now according to his most recent Zoom interview, what I laid out is exactly what will happen.

Clues to who the Rangers starting goalie will be

Igor Shesterkin was the #1 goalie before the NHL went on pause. Coming into camp, it was his job to lose and although Henrik Lundqvist had a strong camp, Igor was better.

Another clue to whom will start game one is who owns the net during practice. For the last two sessions, Shesterkin has owned one net while Lundqvist and Alexandar Georgiev shared the other.

Of course, you never know until you know. Keep guessing Carolina.
