The New York Rangers have announced that Filip Chytil has been placed on IR. In addition, they have once again recalled veteran forward Greg McKegg.

What is not known at this time is if the Blueshirts are going to backdate the move. Placing someone on IR requires the player to be on it for at least 7 days.

Chytil, 22, was injured against the Flames on November 6. If the Blueshirts do indeed backdate the IR transaction he could be available against the Devils on Sunday.

That is highly unlikely since he has not had one practice since the injury. A return against the Canadiens on Tuesday at MSG seems more plausible.

Barclay Goodrow has taken his place as the third line center and did a solid job against the Panthers on Monday.
