Nils Lundkvist and Vitali Kravtsov are back to headlining latest New York Rangers prospect report

The New York Rangers have released their prospect report for March 1, 2021. In this edition the Blueshirts top two prospects are back to headlining.

Below are excerpts from the official report provided to the media via the New York Rangers.

New York Rangers Prospect Report: Nils Lundkvist playing at elite level

NILS LUNDKVIST (D – 20 y/o, 1st Rd 28 overall 2018 Draft)

Season Stats – 46 GP, 12-15-27, -2, 16 PIM

  • Tallied two points (one goal, one assist) and led all skaters with four shots on goal and nine shot attempts in 25:17 of ice time on Feb. 25 against Frolunda; recorded a goal and tied for the game-high with four shots on goal in 22:42 of ice time on Feb. 28 against Malmo
  • Ranks sixth in the SHL (ranks second among SHL defensemen) in shots on goal in 2020-21 (135)
  • Has tallied 12 goals this season, which is his SHL career-high; leads SHL defensemen in goals and power play goals (seven) this season
  • Ranks 17th among all SHL skaters in average ice time in 2020-21 (21:11)

Vitali Kravtsov finishes strong, prepares for KHL Playoffs

VITALI KRAVTSOV (RW – 21 y/o, 1st Rd 9 overall 2018 Draft)

Season Stats – 49 GP, 16-8-24, +8, 12 PIM

  • Tallied the game-tying goal with eight seconds remaining in regulation and led all skaters with 20:26 of ice time in the final game of the regular season on Feb. 27 against Metallurg Magnitogorsk; posted a plus-two rating on Feb. 25 against Torpedo
  • Established KHL career-highs in several categories, including goals (16), points (24), plus/minus rating (plus-eight), and shots on goal (125)
  • Led Traktor in even strength goals (13), tied for the team lead in goals, tied for second in shots on goal per game (2.6), and ranked fourth in shots on goal in 2020-21
  • Tied for 19th in the KHL in even strength goals this season

Tarmo Reunanen playing great in Hartford

TARMO REUNANEN (D – 22 y/o, 4th Rd 98 overall 2016 Draft)

Season Stats – 5 GP, 2-3-5, -2, 0 PIM

  • Tallied an assist on Feb. 27 vs. Providence
  • Has registered a point in four of Hartford’s five games this season

MORGAN BARRON (C/W – 22 y/o, 6th Rd 174t overal 2017 NHL Draft)

Season Stats – 5 GP, 2-2-4, +2, 2 PIM

  • Tallied an assist on Feb. 27 vs. Providence
  • Extended his point streak to three games (one goal, two assists); has recorded a point in four of Hartford’s five games this season

Matthew Robertson and Zac Jones back to scoring

Matthew Robertson (D – 19 y/o, 2nd Rd 49 overall 2019 Draft)

Season Stats – 2 GP, 0-3-3, +5, 4 PIM

  • Registered two assists, and tied single-game WHL career-highs with a plus-four rating and eight shots on goal in his first game of the season on Feb. 26 vs. Lethbridge; tallied an assist and posted a plus-one rating on Feb. 27 at Lethbridge
  • Is serving as an alternate captain with Edmonton for the third consecutive season

ZAC JONES (D – 20 y/o, 3rd Rd 68 overall 2019 Draft)

Season Stats – 21 GP, 6-11-17, +8, 4 PIM

  • Registered a goal, recorded four shots on goal, and posted a plus-one rating on Feb. 23 at Providence
  • Has tallied a point in 10 of the last 14 games (4-10-14)
  • Has notched at least one point in 13 of 21 games this season; UMass has posted a 9-3-1 record in those 13 contests
