Rangers Roundup: No fans to start, ads on helmets, and more

We are just under two weeks away from the start of training camps and seeing Alexis Lafreniere in action. Of course, that isn’t all as we are expecting young prospects like K’Andre Miller, Morgan Barron, and Tarmo Reunanen ready to battle for a spot.

Let’s hit some relevant news this morning.

New York Rangers among many teams that will not start with fans

Yesterday, three NHL teams announced they will start the season with some limited attendance. The Arizona Coyotes, Florida Panthers, and Dallas Stars.

The New York Rangers at this time will not begin with fans in the seats, and an MSG source isn’t sure when they can. If things start to head in the right direction in NY City with COVID-19 cases dropping and vaccinations increasing, limited fans could happen by March.

None of this is confirmed, just everyone’s best guess with limited information available and no fortune telling crystal balls in existence.

All NHL teams remain in close contact with local governments and health officials for guidance.

New York Rangers will be placing ads on helmets

The NHL is allowing all 31 teams to place ads on helmets for this upcoming season. A source in the know believes every team will take advantage of this, including the New York Rangers.
