The New York Rangers will play the rest of this contest without center Filip Chytil, who took an elbow to the head at the beginning of the first period.

UPDATE: Filip Chytil out at least next 4 games

On the play, Chytil was turning toward the puck when he made contact with Cole Sillinger’s elbow.

The 23 year-old center was down for a bit and being attended to by trainer Jim Ramsay before leaving for the dressing room.

Per the MSG Broadcast, Chytil’s is being listed with an upper-body injury. More information to follow after the game.

Coming into the contest, Chytil has 2 goals and 1 assist in five games while averaging 14:52 of ice time.

Chytil was drafted in the first round of the 2017 Draft (21st overall). He had a difficult season with just 22 points in 67 games in 2021-22, but came alive in the playoffs with 7 goals in 20 games.

The young center was playing well this season before this injury.
