Igor Shesterkin is back in between the pipes for the NY Rangers as they face the red-hot Dallas Stars on the road.

“Dallas is a very good team,” Gerard Gallant told assembled media today “Their last three home games they’ve given up just two goals. They play a solid 200′ game and that’s why they’re having success.”

Meanwhile, the Blueshirts are mired in a 4 game losing streak (0-2-2) where they’ve scored only 5 goals on their last 141 shots.

“Don’t let it bother you,” Gallant said of the losing streak. “I thought we played well the last two games, especially the last five periods. We just have to stay with the process. There’s no sense in feeling pressure, just play out game. If we keep playing well, we’ll win some games.”

The NY Rangers lineup will have some changes today per the head coach.

“I’m not going to share them but wait for warmups,” Gallant smirked. “There’s a couple changes.”

According to several reports, Vitali Kravtsov, who was cleared to play on Friday will be back in the lineup. Zac Jones could also be in for Libor Hajek. As of right now, it’s possible that either Ryan Reaves or Jimmy Vesey will be scratched.

UPDATE: Reaves and Hajek scratched

The Rangers lineup will have one definite change as Igor Shesterkin is back in net.

Shesterkin, 26, is 3-0-2 to start the season with an excellent 2.57 GAA and a .916 SV%. For his career against the Dallas Stars, he’s 2-0-1 with a .902 SV% and a 2.97 GAA.

Here’s a look at the projected lineup:

  • Kreider – Zibanejad – Kakko
  • Panarin – Trocheck – Lafrenière
  • Gauthier – Goodrow – Kravtsov
  • Blais– Carpenter – Reaves
  • Lindgren – Fox
  • Miller – Trouba
  • Jones – Schneider

  • Halak

When the Rangers take on the Stars, they will also be facing another former Blueshirt in Nils Lundkvist.

“He’s a good solid young player just like everyone thought he was,” Gallant said of Lundkvist. “He’s got some skills and talent.”

Earlier today, we wrote a feature on Lundkvist discussing his time with the Rangers.
